D-Waste ATLAS: First prize for ICT Innovation in Waste Management

Awarded for Waste Management ICT Innovation in Environmental Awards 2013

"D-Waste ATLAS" awarded with the first prize in Waste Management ICT Innovation category  in the ceremony of Environmental Awards  2013, supported by the Greek Ministry of Growth, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks and Greek Ministry of Environment, Energy & Climate Change.

 

 

The award was received by D-Waste's Founder and CEO, Mr. Antonis Mavropoulos. Among others, Mr. Mavropoulos noted that "D-Waste ATLAS is a new effort, started six months ago, for a global mapping of waste management supported by a powerful database and meaningful visualizations and graphs". During this effort, D-Waste, developed partnerships with international organizations and get Clinton's Global Initiative attention for creating  a complete mapping of waste management systems, worldwide.
The purpose of the awards was to highlight best practice project management processes and initiatives that contribute to and support the protection of the environment and sustainability, while highlighting the contributions of companies and organizations in the national economy and society.

In Waste Management section, they've been awarded companies and organizations that have implemented successful practices which have installed modern technology for efficient exploitation, utilization management or waste resulting from the production process. Also, they've been companies which have implemented successful communication practices for environmental awareness and sustainability.
The ceremony for "Environmental Awards" organized by Plant management and Boussias Communications, supported by the Greek Ministry of Growth, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks and Greek Ministry of Environment, Energy & Climate Change, held at the Athenaeum Intercontinental on December 18th 2012 in Athens, Greece.
